With the summer months almost upon us, the traditional BBQ season is about to get under way for most people. For a lot of people it will be burgers and sausages on a sunny afternoon with friends and family, which sounds just about perfect to me, however many of us in the BBQ community know that there is so much more to cooking outdoors. As a community, we are passionate about showing people that it is easy to cook almost anything on their BBQ’s and sharing some simple advice to help them get started so this got me thinking!
30 Days to better BBQ will take place throughout the month of June with the aim of giving those beginners who have had their interest tweaked the basic knowledge and skills to try something different this BBQ season and set them on their way to the BBQ that we all know and love!
I will be releasing a short article every day throughout the month of June with a quick tip, piece of advice or a technique to introduce the different ways to cook on your BBQ, how to master the basics and achieve great tasting food with a few basic skills. I will also be including tips from some of the most influential people in the UK BBQ community to show that there is a wealth of knowledge out there from people who are only too happy to share it.
Who is ‘30 days to better BBQ’ for?
I’ve put this series together to show that there is more to BBQ than just grilling. In my job, I get to talk with people on a daily basis about BBQ and quite often, their minds are blown when you show them how easy it is to cook their Sunday Roast on the BBQ. Some of the people I talk to have been grilling for years but they have simply never considered there was more to it or they are under the impression that it is too difficult to master.
By the end of the series, you will have an understanding of the basic skills and techniques involved and will have the confidence to try something different this year.
